Different dividends to announced

Hello

I am fairly new to trading 212 and have been testing the waters in a few dividend paying stocks. I have had 2 dividend payments that are different to what the companies had announced and i just wanted to check that I haven’t made a mistake or if there was some reason that what i received was less than announced. I am from the UK if this changes anything

I had an AGNC per stock dividend payment of 10c (8p) when 12c was announced here


Payment received on 12th May 2020

I had a Stag Industrial per stock dividend payment of 10c (8p) when 12c was announced here


Payment received on 18th May 2020

15% holding tax on all US dividends if you are from UK

It is not fixed, depends on Investors country treaty. So it can be from 10-30%…

So a better strategy for my portfolio may be to focus on UK dividend shares to reduce my tax.

Not necessarily. You may find better fundamentals and dividend growth in a lot of US stocks.
A lot of UK investors have US stocks in their portfolios.

Do not disregard too quickly.

Thank you. I will take that into consideration. There are definitely a few US growth stocks I have my eye on if the price is right.
