I would like to suggest adding an option to change the currency used to display the total portfolio value, cash balance, P&L, and other account values.
Trading 212 already supports multi-currency accounts, so users can hold and invest in USD, EUR, GBP and other currencies. However, the portfolio’s displayed value is tied to the account’s primary currency and cannot currently be changed.
For example, someone who earns their income in USD and primarily invests in USD-denominated stocks and ETFs may still be forced to view their entire portfolio in EUR. This makes the portfolio value fluctuate because of EUR/USD exchange-rate movements, even when the underlying USD value of the investments has not changed.
I am not asking to change the account’s primary currency or how transactions are settled. I am simply asking for the ability to choose the reporting/display currency independently.
Ideally, users could select something like:
Settings → Display currency → EUR / USD / GBP / etc.
The underlying holdings and their actual currencies would remain unchanged; only the way the total portfolio value and performance are presented would change.
This would be particularly useful for users who:
Earn their income in a currency different from their account’s primary currency
Primarily invest in foreign markets
Hold a multi-currency portfolio
Want to evaluate their portfolio in the currency they actually use for their finances
This seems like a relatively straightforward quality-of-life improvement that would make the multi-currency functionality considerably more useful.
Please consider adding a user-selectable portfolio display currency.
