Fractional Shares - why dont we have them all?

More of a question for 212, but why is every US share not fractional?

Pick any available US stock and decide how much you want to invest - it’s that easy. If the dollar amount doesn’t result in a whole number of shares, we’ll buy or sell fractional shares.

Surely that would help reduce the volume of random requests on the forum for shares to be made fractional, if our partner already provides this service?

If I remember rightly, the aim was to make everything on the platform fractional, which was why additions were paused, but that seems to have gone out of the window. It’d be good to get an update on whether that remains the goal.
