What happens if a major holder shorts? Could this show as an increase or am I right in thinking it wouldnt because the broker owns the stock they’ve borrowed?

When someone shorts and they buy the stock (i.e. cash in) it’s only replacing stock they borrowed right? At any point would shorting show as an increase on a major holdings notification? (I.e. Citibank shorted boohoo for millions would this show as an increase or is not affected)?
@Gfclappah I’m not sure but looking at the BBG Terminal, shorts are shown in the “Holdings” section.
