New order layout is messy

It feels noticeably less efficient than the previous version.

The old slider worked very well for quickly adjusting position size. The new 25/50/75/100% buttons are useful, but they are a poor substitute when you want something in between.

The bigger issue is the amount of navigation required when changing order types. Choosing the order type opens a separate view, and selecting a Limit order then opens yet another full-screen page JUST to enter the limit price. After entering it, you are sent BACK to the original order screen.

For something as frequent and simple as placing an order, this creates too many unnecessary jumps and clicks.

I think a cleaner approach would be to keep the order amount and limit/stop price on the same screen, similar to before. Order types could simply be tabs at the top, and selecting Limit, Stop or Stop-Limit could reveal the relevant additional price fields directly on the same page.

That would make the workflow much faster and more intuitive.

And on Android phone, all the UI is crammed into the middle with not much space for ā€˜fat fingers’. Old order form was significantly better.

I noticed that on Android T212 build version 8.49.1 has 2 layouts for the order screen. The old one, which i have and is much better then the new one, that my brother has and is not happy with. The old one you can swipe from Market, Limit, Stop and Stop Limit order and the new one has the drop down version. Is this an experiment and if so, do not use the new one. It is not good and not user friendly. Do not change for the sake of change. We do not need to innovate all things, sometimes it is already good and you destroy that with trying to ā€œimproveā€ it. @Trading212

Agreed. New layout is awful. Manually typing in number of shares or value amount versus the previous slider function is a downgrade on functionality, the slider also let you see how much you were contributing as a % of total available funds, much quicker and intuitive. Now you have to go back and check your available cash funds each time. Also agree clicking through different order types in now just worse for user function, it should all be in one screen as it was before. No idea why they make these random changes, sometimes i just think devs are bored looking at the same current layout and want to ā€˜mix it up’ even if it’s a worse user experience.
