Invesco has become the latest issuer in Europe to launch a global clean energy ETF, ETF Stream can reveal.

The Invesco Global Clean Energy UCITS ETF (GCED) is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Deutsche Boerse with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.6%.

GCED is a mirror strategy of the US-listed Invesco Global Clean Energy ETF (PBD) which has $440m assets under management (AUM) since launch in June 2007.

Tracking the WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation index, GCED offers exposure to companies engaged in the advancement of cleaner energy and conservation.

What’s different between this one and the iShares Clean Energy ETF? That one is already listed :raised_hands:

Well to me it looks like Invesco is less focused on USA and more focused on Industrials, Material and Energy sectors.

Yeah I agree… but personally I like to have a bit more concentration in some of the bigger names like Vestas, Plug and Enel. But you’re right, there’s a case to be made for holding both…

First off, thanks a lot for this interesting comparison! You are a true Data Junkie :smiley:
I thought as both are index-tracking ETFs they would just blindly mirror that index… Only now I realized they track different indexes (iShares = S&P Global Clean Energy Index vs. Invesco = WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation index)!

As for those Hydrogen stocks, especially the ones more focused on Fuel Cells… Dangerous territory. I recommend this Liebreich master piece: https://about.bnef.com/blog/liebreich-separating-hype-from-hydrogen-part-one-the-supply-side/

That said, in comparison I do prefer the Invesco too now.

Yeah essentially you have the index but you don’t buy that directly, you buy the product in your area and trade currency
