Portfolio transfers

What happens with those that can’t be transferred? Do we receive them in cash in T212, or do they remain with Invest Engine?

If the shares can’t be transferred, you can either leave them in your Invest Engine account or move the cash after they’re sold.

@Bogi.H, @Veselin.V
Does anyone know how long does it take from shares from on account(HL in this case) to arrive in T212 account with a in specie transfer?
It’s a UK company shares; it disappeared from HL account yesterday, but still didn’t show up on T212 account yet.

Thanks

@JonSnow, transfers are typically completed within 30 calendar days. If you’ve waited more than that, drop me a DM and I’ll check the situation immediately.

Thanks for reply @Bogi.H

The transfer is nearly finished now. The security left the HL account yesterday(doesn’t appear there anymore) and should arrive in T212 ISA account. But I was wondering how long does it take? For the last few transfers was the same day or in the worse scenario the day after.

The time it takes to receive a specific stock depends on the market on which the two brokers will settle the transfer. For U.S. or Canadian stocks, they’re usually removed from your other broker overnight and appear in your Trading 212 account the next business day. For all other markets, settlement typically takes two business days.

Do you have any updates on this? It appears that Interactive Brokers is currently listed in the Portfolio Transfer section.

Hey, everyone :waving_hand:

Yes, transferring from/to Interactive Brokers just became possible. To ensure the fastest and smoothest processing, please initiate the transfer from both platforms. The feature is now available for everyone with an Invest (GIA) account. When it comes to the S&S ISA, transfers are not available just yet, but we’ll keep you posted :folded_hands:

Hi,

I was wondering if there is an update on in-species transfers to IBKR for ISAs? I have to close my Trading 212 account and would like to avoid a cash transfer.

Thanks

We’ve reached out to IBKR about this and are awaiting their response. As soon as we have any news, we’ll keep you updated.

Hi @Veselin.V, is there any update on this? Could you ask IBKR to at least allow partial transfers? That way, we could transfer cash out without having to sell positions we are not ready to sell.

@Vikkio Regarding cash transfers, we support both partial and full transfers for current and previous tax years. There are no limitations.

As for the S&S ISA in-specie transfers, I’m afraid there’s still no update. We’re in regular contact with IBKR, but we haven’t received any new information yet.

Unfortunately this is just not true or IBKR are not aware of this. They exclusively allow full transfers in cash only. Please see screenshots attached.

If you already allow partial cash transfers, would it please be possible to communicate this to IBKR so they allow this?

I’ve run this with the team, and IBKR previously supported partial transfers, which explains my earlier response. If their current policy allows only full transfers, a full transfer would be the only available option.
