This week I missed an important notification about an ETF I had being liquidated ie closed.
My pieās are not balanced, I donāt want them balanced and for that I had warning symbols / icon on them all the time, due to this I did not see the event of an ETF in the pie being closed, this happened last Friday, the last day to sell the ETF was Monday but I only saw this on Tuesday.
The ETF being closed generated a warning icon but because there was already one present on the pie this did not result in any visible change.
Just my opinion but unbalanced pieās should not create warning flags, that is unimportant and for many of us intentional, an event such as a stock or an ETF in the pie being closed however is super important and should be warned about, ideally also an email sent out to the shareholder ie account holder.
I would hope for something like an ETF you hold being wound up, you should get at least a notification of a corporate action, whether itās in a pie or otherwise.
To be honest, I havenāt noticed a corporate actions section of the app at all⦠Am I missing something?
Hey, really sorry to hear you missed this. You make a great point though.
An intentionally unbalanced pie shouldnāt be generating the same warning as something as critical as a holding being closed. Iāll get this flagged internally and look into getting it changed, including the idea of a dedicated email for events like these.
Appreciate you flagging it, will update you here when I have more info!
I sympathise with your problem and would support a resolution. You should be (and likely now are already) aware that pies are not designed to be used as ācontainersā for particular groups of stocks.
Until (if ever) T212 changes things, like me, youāll just have to put up with the incessant āunbalancedā warnings and remember to NEVER rebalance.
Btw, moving stocks into and out of the pie is much easier if you set all the percentages except one to 1 but then it becomes absolutely essential never to rebalance.
Hi, I appreciate the reply, I hope we get better and more meaningful and distinguishable visual and email notifications for such very important events in the future, thanks.
Hi, yes, I actually put up a feature request a long time ago to be able to simply group stocks together without the pie function aspect, just like a folder, for organizational reasons.
The usefulness of Pies is really being held back by the absence of some basic Settings options, such as the one suggested here for customising warnings, but also some frequently requested improvements that have been acknowledged but with no visible actions from the Devs.
Could we please get a roadmap from the Devs so we can see whatās being worked on from the existing list of requested features.
