Ant Group Discussion

The “Bulls bet on CNBC Alibaba”was recent, e.g. yesterday. I do not know whether you are aware of; CNBC and especially Jim Cramer’s show is in many cases a stock price mover as it is a money show that many people around the world watch it regularly.

If you buy now, you might be following the crowd now, too late ? Might be let watch the show …

I’m already in and had to buy via back pedalling just to level out. I hope it flies believe me I don’t like losing money ever.
It just seems like the news is swinging at the moment so I expect more volatility ahead

@ [Lenos1 Does anyone here like to lose money?

Remember you will only lose money if you sell it, otherwise it is just in a book, an accounting.

Having said that, do not assume that this is a recommendation to never sell at a loss. People might want to sell at a loss when there is a clear sign they are facing two difficult options: “you either lose a sizeable chunk of your money or you lose them all”. In this case many sensible people know what to choose.

Some people want to invest in individual stock but still want to get the same level of risk that they would have got with saving account, index fund. I wish I could find a product which would give a much better return than saving, index fund but with the same or lower risk. If such product exist we will all already become a multi millionaires.

Like Lenos mentioned, I just mean an order I did (albeit when it was 213/214) executed at 216, just was lighthearted comment hence smiley. Of course at these levels good, but from 216ish is up 10% to 238 (current price) I have equally bought as high as almost 300 in recent past so my average is higher than 216, but at anywhere 250 is massive buy and even strong buy anywhere up to 300 long term.

As far as I know, the antitrust issues are on a small portion of the business, not on the core business of Alibaba. For Ant, they might be spinning off the lending business giving the government control over it, where the real issue for the government is. So if this happens, everything should be kinda solved.

Those who were back paddling Alibaba (BABA), you could now relax and start smiling now. You could now start counting the pennies start dropping from Bingo machines. Kerching …Kerching …Kerching …

Haha yes, I think any people who were holding an worried should use today to cash out.

For long termers we just need to see when/if ANT IPO happens again  hold onto your seatbelts folks.

I will not be cashing out unless it has reached a long time high or I need the money to be used for a more profitable swing.

WHen ANT group is ginf public bia direct IPO, we the retail investor will only either become spectator or loser.

Just look at air BNB, Door dash when they went public. You could hardly grab as the price went up multiple times of their original valuation.

I will not buy the ANT IPO, I may buy Ant afterwards but its so up in the air right now. I would be happy that through Alibaba I have exposure to Ant, and I am bullish on Alibaba more than Ant right now for sure.
