Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAWW)

As COVID-19 decimates the commercial passenger airline industry, one thing that continues flying is cargo. A quick look on Flightradar24 and you’ll see most long-haul flights are cargo, not passengers. People might be scared to fly right now, but freight and logistics remains essential.

Atlas Air are largely responsible for a huge portion of the world’s air freight and aircraft leasing operations. They are the largest operator of the 747 - potentially even more so now that British Airways and Qantas are retiring their fleet early. Many retired commercial aircraft end up in leasing and cargo roles in the hands of companies like Atlas.

NASDAQ: AAWW

Performance for the past 6 months is up +90%! which is in stark contrast to the majority of commercial airlines which are down across the board. It would be great to be able to invest in cargo and logistics through Trading212 as it’s a huge essential component of the aviation sector that continues to operate despite the doom and gloom surrounding passenger flights.
