Autoinvest on working days

Hello,

currently daily auto-invest invests every single day including weekends and holidays effectively tripling amount bought on Mondays. I would like to suggest one or more of these alternatives:

  1. Invest only on days when markets are open (this would be probably quite complicated to implement since stocks from different markets may be mixed in the pie)
  2. Invest only on Mon-Fri (should be easy)
  3. Select on which days of week to invest (essentially weekly with possibility to select more than one day of week) - this would be more generic and flexible than previous one and can reuse weekly UI
  4. Bank deposit directly to specific pie (by adding pie id to transaction reference) so that we can manage when and how much is invested externally

any update on this very simple feature? you should consider hiring more in your team if they can not add a simple weekday feature

it’s a shame as we are waiting since 2020!!

I understand the demand and agree that these are great additions. After reviewing these with the team, here’s what we can share at this stage:

Points 1 & 4: These aren’t currently on our immediate roadmap, mainly due to some existing constraints we’re working through.

Points 2 & 3: We definitely see the value in offering these customisation options. They’re on our radar, but not at the top just yet, as our focus is on other improvements to the pies. I’ll update this thread once we begin work on them.

Great suggestions.

I’d just add:

  1. Invest at a specific time of day - very important since spreads are high when the market opens
  2. Invest on the next working day (if the selected date happens to be weekend) but this is probably solved by Invest only on Mon-Fri
  3. For monthly+ periods, if investing fails due to insufficient funds, try again the next day

I bump this topic up, auto invest daily only on working days, not during weekends. And if we can choose the time it’s even better, I’m not a fan to trade immediately at opening hour :smiley:
