Hi, I appear to have been taxed 20% on dividends from AIRE - is this because it is a REIT?
By contrast, I wasn’t charged any taxes on dividends from FSFL.
I’m on an invest account.

Dividends from REIT’s are considered a taxable income so 20% tax rate (same as if you had a rental property). Can avoid this if you are eligible for ISA.
FSFL is a fund and not a REIT therefore no tax on dividends.
@Mirlo An ISA comprised solely of UK REITs would possibly be the most tax-efficient investment account to ever exist , the ISA is practically the perfect place for holding onto such stocks. though this doesn’t guarantee the performance of the stock itself
