ETF USD or GBP , 212 account is USD but funded in GBP?

My 212 account is in USD (unfortunately) because of where I live, but I will fund the account in GBP from UK bank accounts, proceeds will likely stay in GBP in the UK.

I’m looking at low cost ETFs for now.

Should I be looking at USD or GBP ETFs? I wish 212 account could be in GBP to make things easier, I’m not used to seeing things in USD in my account, and I don’t use USD.

If buying a GBP ETF I think I’m right to say that as my account is funded in GBP I can buy directly with my GBP balance without a currency conversion, If I sell it will stay in GBP but dividends will be credited in USD, correct?

If I buy in USD there is a currency risk and will mean converting GBP to USD when I buy and sell. I’m not talking about a large amount at this stage just maybe 1-2K GBP to get used to things.

Thanks (I will post another Q soon regarding tax)
