Hi. I am considering writing a C# desktop app to provide my own stock screener (at the moment using tradestation screener). Has anybody written a C# app that gets price data? Where can I get historical price data from? I’ve looked at a couple of options but they either cost a lot or have significant restrictions.

What are you trying to achieve by coding your own screener that any other screener available cannot do for you? Or is it just cost?
I currently have a custom screener that I built with tradestations screener. I have programmed some extremely complex algorithms to give real time buy/sell signals and analysis. However, I would prefer to have my own desktop app and there are limits in tradestation regarding how many stock you can have in your screener at once.
My algorithm use lots of different algorithms to do analysis but i now want to add AI tools into it as well to get analyst ratings, price targets, financials (so I can include analysis of the fundamentals in the screener), company and sector news
