I just made a comment on a news article for a stock which included my thoughts, a quote from an article, then a link to the article I quoted.
The problem is, it cut off the text part way through the URL I posted, but the URL when clicked still shows the full link.
It looks like the full text is 420 characters (nice number), with ‘…’ added after 417 to pad it out to 420.
I feel the characters allowed in comments should be increased a lot, and a ‘see more’ link added for any that go over.
Allowing URLs to only partially display, but still link to the full URL feels like a real phishing risk for anyone that doesn’t hover over the URL before clicking.
