Allow making new posts on feeds for all stocks

It seems weird that so many feeds are news only and you can’t make new posts.

I see quite a of feeds where the latest post is months old news post, but there’s been a major change in the last day, so this months old news post is full of posts from the last day asking what’s happened.

It seems weird to have this community tab, but only for select stocks. And it’s really not helpful for months old news posts to be the only way people can ā€˜create’ a community to talk about recent happenings.

Yes and allow me to make post without having to go into community tab→type the name→join community→ and then post. I should be able to post right from my portforlio instead of having to go all the way around.

I think it would be valuable to be able to link posts to a specific part of a strategy or a particular contribution. The community model may already serve as a kind of pre-filter, but there should definitely be room for general posts that are not necessarily linked to a particular theme. In that case, it is important that an alternative filtering option exists. For example, you could link a post to certain communities if you feel the post does not only belong in the general channel, but is also relevant to a specific strategy, such as speculative investing.

It’s been almost a year since this topic and no official reply. I’m honestly not sure why Community Feeds are not on / setup for all stocks by default.

This would also reduce the burden of T212 admin requests coming through to create each individual community feed :man_shrugging:t2:

Given that we offer thousands of instruments, we can’t have a community for each one by default. Official news posts and articles are automatically linked to the relevant instruments, while communities are created based on demand. If you’d like to see a community for a specific instrument, you can let us know in the relevant thread or by contacting our customer service.

Also, the Home and Portfolio tabs are separate from the 212 Social. Their primary purpose is to help you manage your investments, watchlists, etc. While you can view news and social posts there, there’s a dedicated tab for the 212 Social for a reason.

That’s fair enough.

I suppose it would be good then to update the T212 Social tab to include instructions on how to request a community feed to be setup, as it’s not obvious to me.

For example, i looked around the main T212 app on how to create a new community feed for FTC.GB, and found no links to the official topic thread you linked to, nor to official docs instructions. It’s not currently intuitive.

I’ve posted my request for a community feed on that thread for FTC.GB a couple of days ago, with no response yet. And looking back on previous similar requests for other instruments, there appears to be no feedback on those individual requests to confirm feeds created or not, so i assumed that linked topic was abandoned, and hence, why i also created a new dedicated Community Feed request topic for FTC.GB.

With respect to FTC.GB instrument itself, if we look at the recent official news feeds, there’s been heavily growing interest just by looking at some of hundreds of comments, but when you look deeper those comments aren’t necessarily truly related to the official news story post instead. This strongly suggests that the community have no other way of communicating on separate topics on that instrument other than commenting on official news feeds that lack relevance to the news post itself, thereby making it very difficult to track new community driven discussion topics or questions that are asked.

From all the above, it’s quite a challenge right now to setup and drive accurate engagement on instruments with high community base.
