New Account type: Lifetime ISA

Government is doing a consultation to maybe replace the LISA with a new product. Guess this is not happening then. Too much uncertainty.

Any update on the SIPP rollout?

Understand the uncertainty around the LISA.

This is still in progress, though there’s nothing concrete we can share just yet.

Looking for another update! Any news?

Hargreaves are reducing their fees to 0.25%, possibly the best out there?

Dodl charge 0.15% but have limited choice of shares and funds. They are also running a 12 months fee free offer.

Still keen for this. Any update please? is it still in the works and any forecast dates

In the UK the Lisa looks like it may be discontinued or have major changes made.

Money saving expert keeps trying to get the government to commit to publishing the changes, but so far nothing.

To be honest, the whole tax / savings thing in the U.K. needs an overhaul.

I would like to see in the future that people can just save, in cash or stocks in as many providers as they choose. The data is collected and the taxes appropriately wherever held.

Simplify the system so if a customer wants cash, then let them simply find the best rate available.

The U.K. also needs an education, check out this article:

We need a reduction in stamp duty for a start.

Yep, when I was in school we were not taught anything to do with finances or banking, what an account is, what interest is.

I think it is better now, especially in senior schools where it is taught. Hopefully teenagers nowadays are leaving school with a better understanding.
