Hi, if I sell 10 out of 100 shares of an ETF, is there any guarantee about which 10 will be sold? Is it documented somewhere? My hope would be that the oldest is always sold first
It only makes a difference for how you need to log your trades for tax purposes, as far as Iβm aware 212 reporting works on an average cost basis but you can download your transaction history and prepare your own reporting.

The sold shares are not identifiable as any particular ones. The βreturnβ is based on your average cost, but this may not be appropriate for how you are taxed for capital gains. Different countries have different rules. So you will probably need your own spreadsheet to calculate what is correct for you.
