Russian stocks in USD?

Hi,

How come Russian stocks such as OGZD and ROSN are in USD if they are on the LSE?

Shouldn’t they be in GBP?

If they are in USD do we need to pay US tax? Or any other fees?

I’m also using a ISA by the way.

Appreciate any help with this!

"Depositary receipts (DRs) are negotiable certificates that represent ownership of a given number of a company’s shares and can be listed and traded independently from the underlying securities.

DRs are typically held in US dollars and issued by a depositary bank. Several forms of DRs can be listed and traded in London, including Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) and American Depository Receipts (ADRs)."

OGDZ is an ADS which is slightly different but is traded in its foreign currency on LSE.

Ok thanks.

So if I wanted to buy shares in Gazprom there’s no fees, just buy as Normal? Sorry I’m pretty new to all this.
