Will there be any interest rate penalty for multiple withdrawals or amount less than some minimum balance?

You can withdraw as frequently as you want, and there won’t be any penalties.

There aren’t any minimum or maximum balance requirements to earn interest. However, if the daily interest falls below 0.01, it will accumulate until reaching 0.01 or more, at which point it will be paid.

How does Trading212 use the funds in the client account to generate a return to enable interest to be paid to savers?

We use various products and vehicles to earn this interest - qualifying money market funds, time deposits, and current accounts.

How can you do that if the cash is held by a third party bank?

Your funds are held in client money bank accounts with some of the world’s largest banks, completely separate from our own accounts. This means your money is ring-fenced, with legally binding agreements in place to ensure that it belongs solely to you and no one else.

We only work with banks that’ve met all requirements to hold client money safely. Depending on the currencies you hold, the money may be held in one of the three partner banks we hold client funds mentioned on this page.

The interest is earned based on the funds in those banks and the funds held in QMMFs. You can see your cash holdings in QMMFs and banks through the app’s 'Interest on cash ’ dashboard and in the ‘Cash in banks’ and ‘Cash in QMMFs’ sections of your account activity and monthly statements.

Monthly statements? How do I get these? The holdings in cash and QMMFs are not shown separately on line.

The monthly statements are sent automatically to your email on the first day of each month.

Could these statements be made available in the Documents tab?

Can I open a Cash Isa via the website and not by downloading a phone App?

That would be possible. If you’d like to open an account via the web app using your mobile phone, you can do so here.
