I’ve am interesting in sharing and discussing chart analysis and discussing stocks and fundamentals… Despite some attempts by various people to do that here there doesn’t seem to be any desire to do it here. I have posted numerous times on the in–app forums but there are too many muppets and sadly T212 doesn’t want to implement a proper “block” function where you can block someone and they can’t see your posts or reply to you…
Thus looking whether there is a good online forum for chart analysis and stock discussion
I have just replied to you but it says my reply needs to be approved. That’s another issue with this community that I now regularly get posts needing approval which can take hours so not conducive to responsive discussion and debate
I’m not aware of any decent broker sites for discussion.
I wish T212 would implement a proper block function on the in-app community so that we could just block muppets and trolls.
I’ll give here a go but in the past there doesn’t seem to be much participation and this community seems primarily aimed at support and help (which is good).
Freetrade forum was pretty much it, but not so much now. Just too few users happy to openly discuss and disagree.
T212 forum is tidy, informative and professional, but not a place to stop by for a chat on investment. I guess this is deliberate (by design), not sure there is any plan to change the approach. Prove me wrong
The only community I know that looks a bit like what you are looking for is Reddit. A mix of 4-5 subs could do. For instance, I really enjoy the bogleheads one for some passive investment wisdom and wallstreetbets for my daily dose of total investment insanity.
Obviously fundamental analysis is important and I am always interested to read/hear other people’s view of fundamentals. Personally I like chart analysis once I like the fundamentals because I have often found that it is always the one thing you’ll never find out looking at fundamentals that trips you up (me being a cynic), I’m not great at wading through loads of numbers and I generally think sentiment overrides fundamentals (or manipulation or hype or doom whatever you want to call it on a particular day). Thus I try to use fundamentals to simply give me a feel as to whether it is a company that will do well in the future or continue doing well… That said I’d always love to hear others view on the fundamentals of companies
Purely technicals and risk management. Only mild fundamental analysis, as TA takes priority, because fundamental events more often than not occur once PRICE is at a critical juncture, technically… where a news event will set the course. Breakout or breakdown, rally or sell off etc.
“Show me the charts, I’ll tell you the news”.
The block function they implemented only results in hiding the person you blocked so that you don’t automatically see their comments but it tells you that there is a hidden comment and you can click to view it. Block doesn’t stop the blocked person seeing your posts or comments or replying to your posts. So you block someone and they can still see everything you post and reply to it and comment on it.
