Chart timeline issues

Hello,

I have a few issues with the charting in T212…

If I (for example) select 3 months (at 1 hour intervals) and then try to scroll further back in time beyond what is visually shown on the screen there isn’t an data (no graphs, no timeline - literally nothing…)

I’ve also found that if you select 3 month period, you sometimes only get 2 months of data on screen (1 month 2 days for Vertiv), but because of the issue above, you can’t see the 3rd month if you scroll back in time.

As a result of the above issues, I’ve resorted to using TradingView directly which doesn’t seem to have any of these issues.

Cheers.

Charts reflect data from the time an instrument was added to our platform. We’ve significantly expanded the list of instruments we offer in the past few years, so some charts may not display as much historical data as others. We understand the importance of having access to more historical data, and that is something we are considering for future improvements.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I don’t’ think this is a problem with historical data entirely…

Lets use Crowdstrike (CRWD) as an example, using T212:
A 1 year view: shows data I get is the 17 June 2024 (but shows historical data till 2019)
A 3 month view: The earliest data I get is the 22 May.
A 1 month view: The earliest data I get is the 6th June.
A 5 day view: The earliest data I get is the 18th June (@13:30)
A 1 day view: The earliest data I get is the 20th June (@22:02)

Scrolling back in time past the above earliest data time results in nothing, no instrument graphs at all. Even the indicators stop at the same time.

Interestingly, when I use the search function and view the basic graph from within the search window I can see historic stock data - but when I opt to expand and see the detailed chart (which enables indicators and all the other cool things you can do) the historic data is missing again.

Historic data for CRWD is available in TradingView directly and can scroll as far back in time as my free plan allows. For example:

Selecting a 3 month view in TradingView: The earliest data I get is the 2nd Jan 2024.

I get this same issue for other big names… Microsoft, Tesla, Meta etc.

TradingView are the providers of your chart data so surely the data they have for a stock is available directly from T212?

The smaller the selected time frame, the less historical data you can access on the chart. This is because smaller intervals generate a large volume of data, which limits how far back you can scroll. If you switch to a 1-year view and use larger intervals like 1 week or 1 month, you’ll be able to go back to the beginning, as in the screenshot below. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible with shorter intervals such as 1 minute or 1 hour.
