The going out cinema experience is decent now and again obviously and I love it. But the future is staying in and streaming ānetflix and chillingā. As a race weāre genuinely lazy now.
Although saying that I do have a few shares in Cineworld, hoping to see it thrive again. Thereās not much money invested in it so itās low risk low reward for me. Hope it recovers well.
I learnt a valuable lesson here, I tried to swing it when it hit 70p, and then kept averaging down before I realised iād gone messed up, im at around an average of 64p.
Iām happy to hold it, although that pump and dump last week tested my patience.
Yeah Iām personally not buying any of this ādying breedā speculation - at least not yet. Cinephiles are a MASSIVE demographic and they want the big screen experience.
Maybe a dozen generations down the line will only ever know home streaming and think āwhy would I pay Ā£20 for a ticket to see what I can see at home for next to nothing?ā but that midset isnāt prevalent yet.
Yep can understand that. Iām all for a few beers, and also desperate for a holiday, but for me during the height of lockdown my number 1 missed activity was the gym!
Itās all in the above convo, mate. Sentiment will bring it back in my eyes. Itās already happening now but the market is fickle and those earnings will knock it back. Give it another couple of weeks for the overreaction to die off and itāll be slowly making ground again. Films are on their way again. More and more cinemas opening their doors each week.
Only thing that might prompt me to either take gains or walk completely is if a winter second wave/lockdown occurs.
Might be a naive opinion but I donāt see much difference between the risk of Cineworld vs the risk of any flight or cruise line stock. The expectation is they will be back. The risk is that they go under before they get there.
āWe have food at home but still go out to eatā !
So simple yet so iconic I love it.
I like what Cineworld are doing at the moment and showing old classics. Iām still a bit wary of spending that sort of time in public but when everything is back to normal I hope they will find some time to keep classics running. Always loved this idea.
Was just looking and towards end of Feb we were looking at about 180 a share. Bearing that in mind are people still averaging in now at 60? Or we waiting for drops?
