Hi… I searched the forum but couldn’t find anything on this. I am an investor from Singapore and I’m looking to invest in dividend stocks soon. But I know that there are taxes on dividends. I read about dividends being classified as “ordinary” or as “qualified”. It also had something to do with holding period and stuff like that so I’m not really sure. Can I get some help with this? More specifically, I’m looking to invest in HDLG or HDLV, so what’s the dividend tax on these for my situation as a Singaporean investor? Thanks!
Hello! You can find information regarding the ‘‘holding period’’ here:
In your situation, if a dividend is distributed by HDLG or HDLV, there’s no tax applied to the dividend.
