FX Fee for Capital gains tax

Hello

For calculating how much to pay for CGT, on realised gain do we subtract the FX Fee?

I used Grok to analyse my .csv file of my trades and it found the Result doesn’t include the buy or sell currency conversion fee. For example one of my sell results is a gain of £58.72, but if you subtract the FX fees it would actually be £48.12.

Thanks

’ Deduct costs

You can deduct certain costs of buying or selling your shares from your gain. These include:

  • fees, for example stockbrokers’ fees
  • Stamp Duty Reserve Tax (SDRT) when you bought the shares

Contact HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) if you’re not sure whether you can deduct a certain cost.’

They put Stamp Duty fees for UK shares, so I presume FX fees should be included as well.
