Help with Autoinvest

Hi, I’m a newbie, just want to know the easiest way to set up an autoinvest from the divis I regularly receive? Just a simple auto buy of the original stocks, do I have to use the pie? In the maxed out ISA account, so no new funds.

Hi @drphlox have a look at this help article which has more information about dividend reinvestment in a pie.

@krr13, Hi, just wonder if you can throw some light onto the problem I have, may be I don’t understand how the DRIP system works.

I have 2 pies set up, each with a single stock, my auto invest is set to OFF as I’m not investing with new money. My dividends reinvest is switched ON, hoping the dividend received is invested automatically.

Juat received divis a week ago, the cash has gone into the Free Cash pot and just sits there.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks very much in advance.

Thats a strange one. If you have reinvestment on it should trigger. Is it a stock with low liquidity? The other thing could be if the divident reinvet amount is lower than the minimum threshold but with a single stock I wouldnt think that would apply. Is the dividend more than £1?

@krr13

Thanks for your reply.

Stock is in FTSE250, dividend amount in the £200’s. So can’t understand why, the cash actually gone into free cash outside of pie, so not sure what I have done wrong.

Thanks just the same, I’ll invest manually for now.

How long has the stock been in the pie? If you imported it after the ex-date the dividend would not be paid into the pie.
