Hi! I invested Ā£1,000 into a stock, and the label under what I own is green, saying +Ā£150. I imagine this means that my investments have grown +Ā£150. I tried to sell off Ā£150 worth of my stock, but the green text still remained and all that changed was how much stock i own. What happened? Shouldnāt that +Ā£150 go to zero? I feel i messed something up.
Thatās not really how it works. You just sold Ā£150 worth of your shares of which a portion of it was profit. If you wanted all Ā£150 profit, youād have need to sell them all.
