Improved portfolio screen - Better return calculations (MWRR), Cash widget, and more!

Some corrections are needed to this update.
Do not remove features, it should be add and improve. If a feature is no longer required or used, by users. Run a poll or questionnaire to enable analysis. Then act, even run a User Test Environment.
An application dealing with someone’s capital should be informative, comprehensive and transparent as possible.
Like the asset allocation update, very helpful.

A rework is required for the Value chart. enable various options for a user to tailor it how they wish. Separate lines with hide/show options, and include/omit gain/loss: Value, Net deposits, Investment, Running loss/gain.

Return account value to main screens.

Oh, brilliant my portfolio is up over Ā£1500…

and then I looked through my pies and did the maths, I am actually still down, by more than Ā£1500…

What a total waste of time the new changes are.

I have just signed up to an practice account with Etoro, will learn how to use it and see if it can be as useful Tradidng212 used to be.

I would like a bit of explanation on the new UI showing rate of return. Here is Two images one taken from the Old Look where it shows that my invested amount is 32,297.18 however

In the new look my net deposit is only 28,212.41.

My question here is, are these two figures not meant to be the same. Also Comparing both Portfolio Values you can see there is a slight discrepancies in it. Can you explain the difference in these two figures.

P.S: Both were open at the same time and these figures reflect the exact time for the transactions. (My App currently showing the old ui whiles the web shows the new UI).

Net deposits. You must have withdrawn some.

Old UI: the value of your investments only (so excluding cash)
New UI: the total portfolio value (investments & cash)

I can only echo what many users have said already. The new calculations are interesting, but they should be given as an option to the user, along with the old calculations.

The option to choose is always preferred if possible.

@George In the previous release, T212 used to show my funds breakup under three different heads, one of them was a cumulative total as Reserved for Orders the others being Portfolio and Free Funds.

Where can I find the Reserved for Orders total now in the new release?

This is a crazy change… my net deposits have nothing to do with my currently portfolio… the amount invested against the market value is my portfolio and shows my true PNL please change this back or give the option to show amount invested or net deposits as it’s now completely unclear as to my true PNL!

I have been on eToro since Dec 2021. Over the last 6 months I’ve withdrawn 95% of my capital and moved it to T212. Etoro is a mess in my opinion, I simply got the point where I don’t trust it as a business and I was not even using leverage, trading NATGAS or copying their PIs.

Be careful, would be my advice, on assuming eToro are anywhere near as good as T212 once you get into it.

Edit: their only edge over T212 in my opinion would be you can ā€˜invest’ in crypto if you choose, but this is because you are then in a contractual relationship with their Gibraltar business (eToro X).

Apologies, I think I found what I was looking for at the location below but it will really help your customers if you maintain a change log somewhere on this community so that people can go in and locate what has changed in a release. Especially if you are discretely changing the names / title of heads the numbers were displayed under in the past as in this case.

Reserved for Orders is now Pending Orders in the new release and can be found below…

Also, I do not understand why there is a need to post a 200 words description of What is an ISA Allowance especially for someone who is at this location only because he/she has an ISA account so already knows what it is!
Please use this space for something else that will add value.

Sometimes I really wonder who is advising you on the UX Designs.

Employ me

Which plot would you prefer to have in your portfolio?

  • Net-deposit plot (new interface)
  • Net-invested plot (old version interface)

I can’t wrap my head around this update…

The total return when set to max is less than the return at the stock level. It’s like Ā£8k off. I’m literally invested in one stock lol

I 100% agree that there should be a toggle to turn on and off the view of investments with cash. I’m going to start to use the Trading 212 bank card and so my account value will go up and down like crazy with all of the cash transactions. I want to be able to only check the performance of my investments…

Hey.

I only use the ISA function, having done research into etoro, they use a third party to host the ISA function, so I’m not sure about it.

Having said that, I actually don’t know if T212 use a third party… Lol.

Either way, I passionately dislike the changes being made on T212, it looks like the drive for profit from the investors is kicking in so they make it look like our profiles are up so we get tricked into ploughing more money into our portfolios.

I just don’t get the benefit of this false accounting way of displaying simple mathematics. It’s up there with Enron. Allegedly.

The rate of return is way out. I’ve only had an account with you for a few months. Net deposits €6000, profit €4000 and rate of return 138%?? More like 66% surely?

It’s because one is total return and the other money weighted real return Portfolio Charts – Trading 212

@George The new stats are effectively a performance report looking back into history, albeit a history that may be 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year or ā€˜max’.

I’m looking at my portfolio (S&S ISA) using the web application (I won’t be updating the mobile app until an update is forced) and for the life of me, it is impossible to know how much I have actually invested at this time and how much my unrealised loss (or gain) is at this time.

For an investing platform to have taken away this information is almost unbelievable.

Value V
Invested I
Gain G

where
V = I + G

Now we only know V, whereas before we knew V, I and G and life was great at T212.

Total return, huge improvement

Rate of return, has to go!

@George You have made things unncessarily complicatd. The rate of return has no value in my eyes. it is impossible to know how much total I have actually invested and how much my unrealised loss or gain and % is in real time.

This is bais information every one needs. For this app to have taken away this information is simply unacceptable. Its not a rocket science to have this option available for those who prefer it. Why force the updates down the throat for all?
