Improved portfolio screen - Better return calculations (MWRR), Cash widget, and more!

There’s a big discrepency between the web and android!

The web says my return is 12.8% but the Android app says it’s 15.54%! That’s quite a difference in terms of profit!

If this is due to an update as you say all its done is led to complete confusion!

I’m obviously preferring the Android app right now! Which figure is actually correct???

As others have already said, why weren’t we given the choice of which layout to see via a toggle switch rather than this taking over the whole thing?

As if most of us havne’t got enough to deal with on the first week back at work… pffffff

You’re going to have a lot of concerned and confused users now wondering where a slice of the profits there used to see in the app have gone!

Please implement a toggle, i’ve no interest in past performance stats all i want to know is the live here and now stats please!

I am guessing this was done to protect your data (by hiding it inside the drop down) that has been long requested by users. Sadly, although the intent is good, I feel the requirement has been implemented incorrectly as the implementation should have catered to both type of users - those who want to hide their total figure and those, like I, who want it visible without any clicks.

An easy solution would have been to provide a slider switch next to the value. Those who want it hidden could just turn it off. I am not inventing this solution, it has been long used by companies who display employee information on the benefits page. As amongst other things it also displays their salaries, bonuses and allowances they offer users a simple switch to HIDE or DISPLAY data.

I think T212 should start listening to its users, it will only help them refine their platform.

Please change the left hand side!

It needs to have a button to hide BUY or SELL or STOP LOSS

It is far too cluttered and unable to manage many stocks at once.

Thank you kindly.

I aware of this concept. But the values are still visible at bottom of screen.
Pretty sure there was a setting to hide values from view, but looks like its gone now from within the settings menu.

Try advanced view. Click little drop down on house icon at top.

Thanks for your suggestion, but myself and many others from who i have spoken to actually prefer compact view.

There’s no such option at the moment, but we’ll gather all of the feedback we receive and will consider it for future updates.

That’s right, the ā€˜Cash’ tab has replaced the ā€˜Free funds’ tab and displays all of the free funds you currently have available as cash in your account. As for your second question, Invest multi-currency accounts were introduced back in 2023. You can learn more in this post, as well as on our website here.

Pies started using MWRR and Rate of Return before this update was introduced. The return tab there displays the total profit or loss from your current and past investments, including dividends. However, if auto-invest is off and dividends are paid to your free funds, the dividends won’t be included in the ā€˜Return’ calculation of your Pie.

This is because the update is being gradually rolled out. As soon as it is available for all devices, the return you see will match across all platforms. George shared this as well at the start of his post above

Please could we have the Account Value added back to the top of the screen, where you can switch between accounts. That way it is always visible. No real need for the massive test box indicating only ā€œ212 Stocks ISAā€ reduce the text size, and add the account value next to it.

Why do I care about net-deposit plot? I only care about net-invested. This always creates a false positive return and deceives investors. You don’t have to put the uninvested cash in the plot.

It was extremely convenient to see the account value with no additional clicks.
I understand that you wanted to make it easier to switch between Invest and CFD and added this functionality at the top left but why remove/hide the account value if there is plenty of space to the right?
It is the first thing we see at the top in the phone app version so why hide it in the web app?

Cannot say i like these ā€œimprovementsā€. It has added zero for me. I want to see my total invested, i do not care about rate of return or that useless metric ā€œnet depositā€. Like others i agree, give us back the total invested.

I see that yet again, the developers are justifying their own jobs by constantly tinkering and slowly ruining the app.

The last time you forced changes through, many people posted on here about how the changes made the user experience worse.

Yet, here we are again, changes being made that actually make it harder for us average user to have a clue how to read or understand our portfolios.

I know my portfolio is down, but thanks to the quite frankly useless way the data is now displayed, the app is showing I am up.

I just don’t understand why the devs think everyone wants to be a power user, when actually, I would hazard a guess that most of us just want to be able to log in and see very quickly an actual real amount of what our investments are worth.

I really have had enough of things never being changed for the better.

@Momchil.G please can you check my previous post and reply.

Thank you.

In addition to my comment above, I’ve also realised there is no actual single value showing the sum of my current investments excluding any unrealised gain or loss.

Seems like a huge backward step to have lost ā€˜Invested’ and ā€˜Return’ - these should have not been removed.

Everything else, when provided in addition, is fine.

This doesn’t feel like a good answer for me. The difference for the person you replied to is 3%. For me - the ā€˜return’ on Android is 25%, on the web app (which has updated to the new metric) it’s 70%. The issue isn’t that the numbers don’t match, it’s that the entire measurement has changed.

The numbers on the screen are still there. There’s the value, the total return, and the amount invested. The % difference between the amount invested and the current value is what I’m interested in.

Today I see changes in the desktop app that yet again remove useful information from the main screen forcing clicks to bring up popups.

Please just leave the current total account value on the main screen somewhere.

This was previously discussed and/or attempted before when the total disappeared from the bottom box where free/portfolio/gain/loss are.

Who/what is driving this to repeat? Will we have to continually fight this or can T212 learn from our feedback once and not treat no as try again later?

@Momchil.G Let’s say I have a pie with a single fund in it for which I’m 10% in profit and the MWRR is also 10%.

If I replace that fund with another one and rebalance, my profit for the fund will be 0% as I just bought it.

However, will the MWRR of the pie remain 10%, as it also includes past investments?

Still waiting for this to be available on iOS… Hopefully soon…

Hi, thanks for the continual improvements. I like most of them, but i was wondering, would it be possible to either turn off ( or hide in the settings) this new ā€˜rate of return’ percentage (mwrr). i appreciate that some users love it and that’s great, but it’s doing my head in. I preferred the simple rate of return calc’. i just need to know how much more i have now in absolute terms.
or… maybe if the user were to click on the value it could show a breakdown of how the mwrr is calculated with their own values. maybe then it would make more sense.
having said that i really do like everythng else youve ddone over recent months
thanks again.

Please add a trailing stop loss or the ability to edit, buy orders or sell orders rather than having to make a completely new order which is time consuming.
