Is there a possibility of a T212 pension platform (SIPP)

@KrisG ,
What kind of financial products could T212 offer within the SIPP?

:up_arrow: This is a key question for me. I will open a Sipp here, hopefully 212 will give me lots of reasons to use it.

I don’t want to hold physical commercial property in one or anything too outlandish but, ideally, I would like to see individual bonds and mutual funds as options eventually.

Beyond that, it’s things like multi-currency support, being able to hold non-Isa-eligible shares like TSM and SE, employer contributions, and 0% withholding tax on US shares (provided Trump doesn’t remove it).

As an aside, does anybody happen to know whether similar relief is available within Sipps for stocks in other markets, particularly the Netherlands and France, where withholding taxes usually apply?

Will SIPP transfers in be available from launch?

This means that the regulator won’t let you go live because you’ll dominate the market, right?

What can we do to help? You’ve a dedicated community here who’ve been asking for it for 6 years.

Hi @KrisG
Will you be allowing employer contributions for individuals like me who work as freelancers and would like to make salary sacrifice contributions to our pensions? So not necessarily a workplace pension.

Would it be possible to transfer a piece of my portfolio from my S&S ISA into the SIPP? or would they have to be seperate?

you can only transfer money into or out of an ISA unless it is a transfer to another ISA

The tax relief will more than make up for any potential loss from selling and buying again

this is something that I don’t have access to right now and would love to. But I’m unsure if they can wrap them inside SIPPs. I buy foreign national bonds in IBKR, but they are not available in T212, again unsure if it’ll change for SIPP

Looking at history of other SIPP providers like invest engine, I doubt it will be available for quite some time. I have a feeling that by the time it will become available there will be more interesting options for SIPP from companies like RH.

Don’t let a ā€œtransfer bonusā€ delay your SIPP, simply existing is an incentive. I’ve had a bad experience with Freetrade, keen to transfer.

Same here waiting patiently as there app update just made me dislike them more after loosing thousands from the crowdfunding and this update just showed me they have no business sense or passion

You mention a bad experience with Freetrade. Earlier this year I gave up waiting for T212 SIPP. After a lot of searching I decided that Freetrade was the best provider financially for nearly all of my pension but I too was concerned about bad reports about Freetrade. However, so far, they have been pretty good. The only issue has been that they charge for withdrawals but I have solved that by withdrawing from another SIPP.

Are you confident in a release before the end of 2025 ?

Must have missed this question @RLX, apologies. Our aim is to make available as many asset classes from our current investment range as is possible as long as they are considered a ā€˜standard asset’ by the FCA. Longer term we will look to expand this even further.

We hope so but there are still a few hurdles in our way. We are working hard behind the scenes to make this happen.

Hi T212,

I’m unreasonably excited for the launch of the SIPP!

In February you said that you couldn’t confirm yet if you would support transfers in at launch. Is there anything you can add to this now?

If yes, can you comment on which pension providers (or even a rough number of providers) you are planning to support transfers in from at launch?

I ask because some of your SIPP competitors with low fees only support transfers from a very short list of pension providers, and often my workplace pension provider (Scottish Widows) isn’t supported.

To move my pension, I therefore would need to transfer my pension:

  1. from Scottish Widows
  2. to SIPP provider A (with high fees but support for Scottish Widows transfers)
  3. finally to SIPP provider B (with low fees and supports SIPP provider A transfers)

This is a bit of a pain for me and I assume everyone else involved, so more providers you support transfers from the better!

If there’s no transfers or employer contributions, I won’t be able to use the SIPP, so really hoping to have both options available ASAP!

Hi @Cal :waving_hand: I can’t confirm just yet, but I’ll update you as we get closer to launch.

hi @KrisG ,

I know I am asking this every 2-3 months.

Is there maybe a more specific timeline for the launch of SIPP from Trading212 now?

Thank you

Hi @kirisaak Not yet unfortunately. It’s hard to put a specific ETA at this point in time due to the many moving parts. But we are working hard and making progress behind the scenes.
