Moving holding from "Invest" to "ISA"?

Youā€™ll never be able to do this as a transfer, you could do a Bed and ISA theoretically at some point but any taxes due would still need to be paid.

Hello,
I am sure this probably has been requested before but a facility where we can transfer shares/etfs from Invest to ISA would be greatly appreciated.

You can transfer cash easily using the move funds option. Itā€™s not allowed to transfer securities from non tax-sheltered to a tax-sheltered account as it will be close to impossible to track capital gains.

Hi George,

I forgot to mention. Yes it was for transferring securities.

Out of curiosity, will there be a bed and ISA option for those wanting T212 to automatically sell and re-buy the same inside the ISA?

Obviously thereā€™s still a small hit between the bid and ask on each one, Iā€™m just think from an efficiency pov.

@Matsuyama At the moment with the markets going shit itā€™s probably better turning all your stocks/ETFs to cash and waiting a couple of weeks and rebuying the same but getting more shares for your money. (Not financial advice :joy:)

Also, as I imagine you are a British investor @phildawson I thought Iā€™d remind you of the 0.5% taxā€¦
I believe it only applies on LSE stocks though (without including AIM) - Please correct me if I am wrong .

Yes anything that had stamp duty youā€™ll be paying it again on buying again.

Also you could be liable for CGT if you made significant profit.

is it possible to stocks transfer from an isa to an invest account instead?

It canā€™t be donā€™t for legal reasons ?

Looks like it is possible legally.

Tax and Employee Share Schemes: Transferring your shares to an ISA - GOV.UK.

Yes. But this is in very special circumstances and would not cover a transfer from an Invest account to ISA.

Looks like bed and ISA is the only option

Sell transfer and repurchase

Iā€™ve had a look to see if this has already been asked but could not find an answer, Is it possible to transfer a stock that you have bought from you invest account to your ISA account. I know the answer is probably no but worth the ask.

No not possible unfortunately. But you can transfer the cash if you didnā€™t know this already, just a few taps of a button

That is unfortunate. Yes I am aware:)

Apologies if this has been covered before, as I couldnā€™t find any thread.

Is there any way to transfer stocks from Invest account to ISA account?

Nope just sell and buy basically

No the ISA is a tax wrapper so you canā€™t transfer stocks in.

Some brokers offer Bed&ISA but all that does is sell and rebuy the same inside the ISA on your behalf. T212 doesnā€™t offer that service so its up to you to sell and rebuy yourself. Obviously youā€™ll lose a small amount on the spread.

Is there any plans to be able to move stocks across from an Invest account to the ISA account directly, without having to sell and rebuy?
