Itās very unclear. My App says up to 1.5% cashback now. with no clear statement as to what the cashback paid actually is. If you click through and read the promo terms, the 1.5% ended on 31 July. It looks like T212 has forgotten that their promo ened to me with no replacement stated.
Iād assume that it has reverted to the old 0.5%, but that is my assumption and not a T212 statement.
Did you contact Customer Support to ask them why your subscription was removed? I am sure they could have reinstated it for you if it qualified.
1.5% is the best non-AMEX cashback in the UK. So it is only fair that T212 impose rules as they think appropriate. I am sure that you could get a debit card with no or lower cashback if you cannot meet the conditions.
I as well donāt use any of these zoomer streaming services.
So I turned on automatic charging of my phone bill to the T212 card and letās see if it will qualify.
I would be happy to opt in, but the only subscription i have is to spotify, and they cannot accept the trading212 card, so i have just got a chase credit card for 2% cash back
Just for the record, a simple phone bill (provider O2) paid by the T212 card is recognized as a subscription and gets you qualified for cashback.
Iāve set my mobile phone bill to be paid each month by my T212 card. One payment was made at the end of July, showing as a recurring payment in my list of T212 card transactions.
Iām still not having it showing as a subscription, I contacted support and they said it wonāt qualify until the next payment has been made.
Really not a fan of this new situation.
So Iāve just found an email dating from 30th June which explains the current terms:
Weāre changing our Cashback Terms, which will take effect from 1st August 2026. From this date, your cashback rate will drop to 0% unless you meet both of the new eligibility criteria as set out in the Cashback Terms*:
Have an active Eligible Subscription processed via your Trading 212 Card, and
Activate the Invest Cashback feature in your account
Until 1st August 2026, youāll continue to earn your current cashback rate, including any Cashback Promotional Rate you may currently be benefiting from, which will remain in place until the end of the promotional campaign period (31st July 2026), as long as you remain eligible for it. After 1st August 2026, your cashback rate will drop to 0% if you donāt meet both of the above eligibility criteria
I confirm that I am continuing to receive 1.5% cashback.
For those who seem to be in a panic about having a qualifying subscription, it is really quite easy. A basic £1.99 monthly Google or Microsoft subscription counts. My Amazon Prime (which is yearly) seems to have been logged and counts. Basically any regular payment for anything seems to be picked up and counts so long as it is regular and is for the same amount each time.
What are the conditions for receiving 2% cashback?
From what I see, quite alot: āChase current and saver accounts required. Make 15+ payments per month using your debit or credit card and/or Direct Debits and maintain Ā£1,000+ across your savers (excluding round-up accounts).ā
The detail is £1000 in their saver account which pays only 2.23% gross. What you gain on the card you are likely to lose on the savings account.
Has something changed now? I came to realise recently that my account did not qualify for cashback ābecause I had no subscriptionsā when I missed a large chunk of cashback on somethings I recently purchased.
But today I see itās suddenly happy that my yearly Amazon Prime payment is a subscription, and that my Microsoft Azure subscription (which changes value slightly month to month based on usage) also qualifies ⦠And then it lists a bunch of other subscriptions which have lapsed, such as my purchase from Greggs when I go to the monthly office day ![]()
Which is quite apt, because it seems this method of detecting subscriptions feels a bit flaky
Donāt get too used to it - once youāve been there for a while, you get absolutely nothing ![]()
