Option to Receive Dividends in Asset Currency (Multi-Currency Enhancement)

Hello Trading 212 team and fellow investors,

I’m writing to propose a feature that would make a lot of sense, especially now that the Multi-Currency Account is available:
The option to receive dividends in the original currency of the asset (e.g. USD, EUR), instead of having them automatically converted to the base currency.

Currently, even with Multi-Currency enabled, dividends are still converted into the base currency — which limits the usefulness of holding multiple currencies and removes flexibility for long-term investors who manage exposure across several markets.

Why this matters:

  • Many of us invest internationally and wish to reinvest or withdraw in the asset’s native currency (especially USD/EUR).
  • Automatic conversions reduce transparency, even if no FX fee is applied.
  • Other platforms like Interactive Brokers and DEGIRO offer this feature — it is becoming standard in modern investing platforms.
  • It would give investors more control over currency risk, taxation, and portfolio management.

Suggested implementation:

  • Add a toggle or account setting: “Receive dividends in asset currency” (default: OFF).
  • If turned ON, dividends would remain in the currency in which the company issued them.

I believe this would be a simple yet powerful improvement to the Multi-Currency feature and I encourage other users to support this request by replying or upvoting.

Thank you for considering this idea and for continuing to improve the platform!

Thank you very much for the detailed proposition, @mihaicristian25 :folded_hands: I’ve passed it along to the team for consideration.
