If you are investing for the long term (like me) then it’s not an issue. Missing out on a few hours in one day is neither here nor there.
It’s only a loss if you cryatalise it.

Well sorry, but bully for you.
However, we still have spreads, possible FX losses and interest.
It is unreasonable for people to claim that it is not an issue because its ‘free’ as this argument is flawed in many ways.
Please be considerate for those of us who have very little in savings and investments and whose accounts have been completely messed up by this.
Yep I’m about £2k down paper loss today, but it’s all part of the fun.
I’m blaming Gold Prices and Ethiopian fighting. Mixed with the US Grump and Biden.
The spreads are the raw spreads again this applies to any broker it’s the market makers that decide those.
And as explained the FX fee only applies to CFD.
The zero percent on Invest/ISA is very generous.
Nobody can really help with how strong the pound is on any particular day. I guess blame Boris.

That’s fine I was just pointing out that spreads aren’t controlled by T212 with Invest/ISA.
Those are the same as any platform. Look up market maker if you want to see where most of that fee goes. It’s basically to help keep trades flowing so there’s always someone ready to take the other half of the trade. So whilst annoying to lose a bit on selling, think of it as paying for the service. If you want to have smaller spreads go with safe blue chip stocks as it’s less risk to them.
£2k isn’t small change to me btw. But I’m confident I can hold and see it back, might take a couple months or even half a year. Got to take the emotion out of it otherwise it can wear you down. I’m hoping I can look again in December and it’s mostly recovered
