Retail clients treated like children

Hey everybody,

I am extremely disappointed with trading212 after seeing this message:

“In the interest of mitigating risk for our clients, we have temporarily placed GameStop in reduce-only mode as highly unusual volumes have led to an unprecedented market environment. New positions cannot be opened, existing ones can be reduced or closed.”

Retail clients again are treated like they can’t make their own risk management decisions and trading is gatekeeped by the broker.

I understand some securities are extremely high risk but I believe the solution is transparency, maybe a notice that says its a high-risk security and you have the potential for extremely high loss.

What are your thoughts on the situation?
