SpaceX...Dive in or hang on?

Hi all :slightly_smiling_face:

First time I have traded before, So all very new to me and I have loads to learn, in which I am hoping to do over time?

Be interested to hear on what people’s views are going to be when the Space X opens for trade tomorrow?

Cause of opening and could be very volatile? is it worth hanging on before investing? Or put in a small amount of money? Say $150? As a chance the shares may shoot up?

Great to hear people’s personnel opinion? And how they think the best way to invest within this platform when it opens tomorrow!

Thanks in advance.

My personal thoughts are that spacex over the long term could be a great investment, do you need to be in on day 1… Probably not. Your also only looking to buy $150 worth, so will you be more mad you never bought, or more mad you bought and lost a bit of value?

I would imagine you will see it gain in the first couple of weeks as people trade the hype (some of which is already priced in), then it will loose some value over a couple of month period and then you will see some steadyness (but I’m no expert)… It depends on your time scale and risk reward over that period - if your holding longterm will you be continuing to accumulate over the next few months as dollar cost averaging will even costs out if you buy high or get you a low purchase if you buy low.

Would love to know other people’s thoughts on this also.

Its all a personal view really, but there has been ways to get exposure to spaceX for years. My initial concern would be that there is a lock in period for existing investors - they can sell x% of their stake after either a period of time has lapsed, or the share price increases over y%. Both these scenarios would act as a limiter on any potential future upside.

I have thought about getting on board with a small investment, but there didn’t seem to be anything available with regards to a “Pre-IPO” as such unless you were investing 1K + and even then it was dubious IMHO. I believe as it stands, you’re looking at an oversubscription of x4 minimum and initial prices are going to above the initial $175 advertised. There will be Musk/SpaceX/Tesla die hard supporters out there dying to get on board, but in my honest opinion, I believe it’s a mistake to jump in now - better to wait and there are many other factors and/or investments to look at… Hell, look at Helium - what will Musk or SpaceX do without it?!

Hi and thanks for sharing your view with me :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking at leaving it in there for a fair bit of time to as you rightfully said..See how it steady’s out? I am a complete novice to all this and would like to learn more over a long period of time? Your spot on with what you said “will you be more mad you never bought, or more mad you bought and lost a bit of value?” And that is the whole scenario that has been going through my head for the last 24 hours!

But as explained as new to this It will be a massive learning curve and I really appreciate your input and helping me.

Thanks once again :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for your input :slightly_smiling_face:

As new to all this I don’t fully understand investment talk sometimes, so would it be possible to explain a little more on what you mean by this please? ‘Both these scenarios would act as a limiter on any potential future upside.’

Thanks for your time and getting back to me :slightly_smiling_face:

   Look at Helium, really liked that and did make me chuckle :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Reading people’s views and what you have said yourself? I am going to watch it for a bit and not dive in immediately?

Concern is? And what I feel some others are possibly thinking? This could get off to a very shaky start? especially with the 1.75tr valuation?

Thanks for your time and input in getting back to me :slightly_smiling_face:
