Why has Virgin Galacticās (SPCE) stock price increased by nearly 25% in the last week and over 50% in the last month?
I donāt see any major news apart from a target price downgrade.

IMHO itās just a pure speculation play. No one is flying to the moon anytime soon let alone out of the country. I myself bought at $19 and I have just sold all my shares at 39. The companyās fundamentals donāt yet justify such a price and I am not sure they will be able to anytime soon. But who knows, I could be totally wrong
Thereās many new traders out there at the moment and they are buying names they know, things they understand so FOMO is driving the prices sky high.
If you see a buying opportunity then buy if not let it run a bit and then review in a month or so.
Speculative stocks are just that, there are no real reasons why they climb so quickly and it certainly canāt be quantified using normal measures.
Is this a reason not to buy the hype?
This is applicable to this situation
Itās blown past the $40 barrier. Is this the speculators coming in for any upcoming news or more option traders coming in.
There are couple of reason for this to spike.
After successful Virgin Orbit test rocket, Richard Benson said Virgin Galactic test flight soon, in few weeks. (About 6% move)
New ArkX ETF (Space related Stock) will launch late March 2021. this will hold good % of SPCE shares, and ARK is buying SPCE stock in other ETF perhaps they may transfer some position to New ETF when launch. āReason for last 2 days rally 25% moveā
NEW SPAC ETF SPXZ information released today, it will hold post SPAC. And Virgin Galactic was a Spac.
Well did anyone see this much of a spike coming ?
I have 1.5 shares and considering selling the 0.5
Just interested to see how action goes. But tbh I see my money better spent/invested elsewhere.
Space stock too volatile for my taste xD
Not interested at all, I think itās a pretty weird investment generally.
