I was just trading on Vix 15Apr20 (CFD)

I noticed the trading closes for 15 minutes in the evenings. Actually there are two 15 minute breaks every evening.

The only reason I realized that it closed is because I tried to take my small profit and got the popup “This market is closed for 15 minutes”.

Anybody have any experience with this? What is the 15 minute break for? Couldn’t find any info on google.

Also, is my small profit safe or is my cash being blasted to zero right now as we speak? i.e. does it still move when the market is closed (like after market NYSE etc)

edit: Market re-opened at the same price but dropped rapidly. I had to close instantly.

@pipo There’s actually only one 15 minute break from 20:15 to 20:30. After that, the VIX isn’t calculated from 21:00 to 22:00.
