Apple and tesla are too big to give new investors rockstar gains
$400 a share up so far I’m happy with where tesla is heading, no other eV manufacturer has the vast off shoots that tesla has. Nor any other car manufacturer for that matter.
Tesla will surpass apple within 5 years
I see the oil and gas sector being one of the better performing sectors, tech dropping slightly as folk have less to spend, Apple and Netflix will grow, but Tesla and Airbnb due a correction.
Tesla has been due a correction since $100 a share according to all the “observers”.
I wouldn’t bet against Musk as many have fallen to its might.
If your certain a correction is coming show us your short order?
I wouldn’t touch oil companies with a barge pole right now, they will start shutting down over the next decade. The only ones I’d look at is those adopting green energy
I don’t gamble, so never short stocks. I invest with a long term mindset only.
This thread is about ideas.
Fair enough just looked like you were answering a comment rather than the thread.
Good job you don’t short stocks especially tesla
Careful now. Don’t want to poke renewables/EV folks. Oil is dead they say.
Oh well keep buying them midstream stonks. I will enjoy the death of oil in upcoming decades.
I see everyone zig, I do a zag. See you in 10 years to catch up on the death of oil story.
We are in a transition, oil has ruled energy for more than 200 years and covid-19 just boosted the transition from oil to renewable, it will take some time but oil stocks are inevitably going down sooner than later.
To invest in renewable energy, the cheapest backdoor is via oil companies like BP & Shell. These titans will eventually dominante renewable energy sector in my own opinion
Lol no they won’t, if you want to invest in renewable consider companies like Brookfield renewables, Nextera energy or even general electric because it’s not that easy for companies like Shell or Total to switch to renewable talk less of them dominating the renewable market when they are companies already dedicating their existence on green energy.
Cause Europe doesn’t have the kind of extremely high value info found in the US lol
Speaking about US extremely high value, are you referring to Trump and his followers?
There is a kind of secret cyber cold war between the major blocs.
The new generation of James Bond, a tech geek/nerd:
You wanna compare the EU to the US ?
They have things comparable and others not so much.
In some aspects US are better, in others, Europe is better. Climate matters, consumer protection, anti-monopoly policies, social and health public systems for example, Europe is leading the way.
There are also European companies that are world market leaders in their segments.
So there isn’t a simple answer, both have strong points and weak points.
Totally agree long term.
Totally agree with this. Particularly BP and Shell. They have the capital and infrastructure to do so. It just needs a mindset change. Shell recently were losing their upper management due to the stubbornness of the decision makers not turning to renewable and green energy, but that seems to have been a catalyst in sparking change towards that area.
Remember folks, not that long ago the government were pushing Diesel vehicles as the “next” thing. Saying it was better for the world and less pollution lol.
I can see the same thing heading for EV production.
I’m just waiting for a Netflix style documentary highlighting the widespread waste and destruction caused by the EV production cycle. ie: Battery production/waste/lifecycle.
Since we’re talking ideas, not so much a market trend, but certainly something that will be quite big (but understated) in the future;
Anti-drone tech. They were flirting with an IPO last year but it didn’t happen. Maybe 2021 we might see them.
Might be wrong but are QinetiQ involved in similar tech?
as someone who wishes to eventually get a drone. anti-drone tech does sound like an interesting angle to invest in the market. a responsible drone future so to say.
