Add funds to a pie manually - ✅ solved

I used the Invest/Withdraw Funds button when inside a pie. I was expecting the new cash to end up inside the pie but it is showing as free funds outside of the pie. That seems like a bug to me.

How do I move the cash to the pie?

Push the button again and fill in the amount you want to move into the pie from free funds.

Thanks! I just hadn’t thought about using the same button to do it when it failed me the first time  .

I think I am finally beginning to understand the UX but it does not seem very intuitive to me. I’ll try to summarize for a posterity sake: The Invest/Withdraw Funds button on the Pie is primarily meant to move cash between the Pie and free funds on the account (that was not obvious). Inside the form is a scroll bar from 0 to the amount of free cash on the account and also a little round button that allows topping up the free funds. I used that round button and I thought I was done. That’s where I got confused.

BTW: the scroll bar allows movement from 0 to 0.2 even when I have no free funds. When I press “confirm buy” it says I don’t have enough funds. Confusing.

I had the same this week. Was expecting the funds to see them directly in the pie. Maybe it is solved in newer iOS version. Or it is a bug.

If you mean moving cash into a cash balance within a pie, I don’t think this is possible. Except for small cash amounts left over following a dividend auto reinventment, all cash is left outside pies in your single overall cash balance. “Moving cash to the pie” means buying stocks.

Adding funds manually is clunky imho, should have a sticky movable button so that it is visible on each pie screen.

That is what I wanted, just making the pie bigger and letting it do its magic when buying stocks.
