AutoInvest funds

Does AutoInvest take the funds from your free funds in Trading 212 or does it take them straight from your payment method, card/bank etc. ?

At the moment AutoInvest deposits funds from your chosen payment method - debit/credit card.

The AutoInvest using accounts free funds is still in the works, but it’ll be available soon.

Ok, thank you very much!

A few days ago, we all recieved an email telling us that deposits made via credit/debit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Skrill will include a 0.7% fee over €2,000. But, bank transfers will remain a free method to deposit funds with no cap.

Consequently, one can currently deposit into their Trading212 Account “Free Funds” via bank transfer and then manually deposit those funds into a Pie, yet, “Free Funds” are not one of the current payment methods accepted by the Pie Autoinvest feature (only Apple Pay and credit/debit cards, which are subject to the 0.7% fee).

Given the above situation, my suggestion is that Account “Free Funds” be added as a payment method for Pie Autoinvest. This way, users could setup an automatic bank transfer with their bank and then set an Autoinvest to fund their Pie a few days later, avoiding the 0.7% fee.

Untill “Free Funds” are added as a payment method, I will have to setup a monthly bank transfer from my bank and then manually make deposits into my pies.

I’ve literally just tried to add funds to a pie and it stated that I had not got enough funds in my account to add to it so, that would mean then that the free funds can be used to fund pies?

Using free funds as part of autoinvest is in development so keep watching for it. No release date as yet.

Hi T212,

Any timeline about this feature soon? I’m nearly hitting the £2000 limit and really don’t want to have to do manual investment myself…
Many thanks,

Hi, Wonder if you can help me with some advice. As you are aware there is now a 0.7% fee for any kind of card payment, but free for bank transfers. I have cancelled my Pi payment from debit card and left some free cash for upcoming autoinvest . I am unsure if this payment will be taken from free cash? Much appreciated for your advice. MD

Big +1 on this now that card deposit have a 0.7% fee.

Is there any way that we can use autoinvest without paying the 0.7% fee? (funding by standing order or something?)

I have joined Tradind212 because of free Autoinvest. Please bring it back. To an outsider it seems that funding the Autoinvest from the free funds should not be that much of a work.

autoinvest isn’t gone, what are you asking to be brought back? the cards charge of 0.7% isn’t being removed.

freefunds are in the plans.

With a 0.7% charge it is as good a gone.

Multicurrency account was also “in the plans” and now it is not any more:

So being in the plans currently does not count as much.

being in the plans doesn’t mean it has to be happening soon and auto investing is just that, there is no requirements it be free to be available.

they are working on expanding the bank transfers across the EU but that will also take time, which we don’t have any specifics for. with everything going on they have a large workload to try and shift which delayed some features and moved others forwards. at least improvements are constantly being made which is reassuring, albeit not at the speed most of us wish they were coming.

@Dao I am sorry by I don’t see any new information in your post.

For me autoinvest with the added fee is as good as gone. I wouldn’t have created the account if the fee was there from the beginning. So what I’ve signed up for is Free Autoinvest. Then I just voiced my opinion that I would like to get it back.

Obviously you don’t mind the fee and that is your choice. Just let me keep mine, thanks.

I like the auto-invest feature as it allows me to stick to a consistent amount that sorts my budget/schedule. The move to banking to avoid card fees is understandable, but there doesn’t appear to be an option to auto-invest using the immediate bank transfer function? Is there a reason for this?

Still shocked that this hasn’t been introduced, but then this is a business. Why rush to introduce a free feature when there is 0.7% to make.

Exactly my thoughts, I hope they bring this soon.
