Is it possible add cash from the general account to a pie within the account without triggering a sale. I can only find the Invest button which combines funding with investment.
The way I do it is to add a stock or ETF to the pie, verify that the market for that instrument is currently closed (VERY important), choose custom option and amount, invest. It will give you a dialogue box about fulfilling the trade when the market opens.
Then cancel the trade. The money will stay in your account as cash.
I knew about that workaround but that leaves cancelled lines for each stock in the history section which, themselves, cannot be removed. I was hoping that I had missed something, but thanks very much.
