Hi, Im looking for clarification on the annual statements produced by t212 are they produced for the tax year or calendar year, I can’t find the answer on statement itself, whereas the cost and charges clearly states it’s calendar year.
How can I get all the information purely for the tax year in question??? Quite overwhelming as iv never had to complete this form but lowering of CGT and some crypto disposals brought me in to this realm.
Based on my last two annual statements, they were for the tax year, unless I’ve misunderstood something fundamental.
I’m in a similar situation. It would be VERY helpful to have the ability to generate a CGT-compliant statement for a specified date to plan for disposals in the run up to the end of the tax year. Doing this manually is quite tiresome.
I’ve been experimenting with CGTCalculator online capital gains calculator for UK share trades , and it has potentially highlighted a problematic aspect of the way T212 calculates the results of a trade - by not applying the same share matching rules, it gives a distorted gain/loss figure that as a new(ish) investor, I didn’t know that I didn’t fully know the rules.
Said rules seem fairly straightforward, though, if not a tad menial to calculate by hand to check, but there we go.
In my case, I had a massive loss on a holding that fell so low it wasn’t worth cutting my losses on - I intended to just hold on to and crystallise to offset some gains at some point in the future. However, I spotted an opportunity in some volatility to reduce that loss by trading a small additional position, and when I sold the new shares the same day to put me back on my original amount, it recalculated my average cost and suggested that I had inadvertently crystallised 3/4 of my losses, whereas, I now suspect the share matching rules meant I actually turned the intended small profit, leaving the original massive loss intact.
I’ve got a lot of calculations to go through to check everything, but it would be lovely if you could choose to have T212 apply the same rules automatically!
Hi, I checked my Annual Statement and it says below - does that help? Note - I don’t have any Realised Gains/Loses for Shares, but I can see on my statement below for Dividends.
This is a list of all equity dividends received in your Invest account from 05.04.2024 (22:00 UTC) to 05.04.2025 (22:00 UTC).
I wrote a tool to convert T212 downloaded CSV files into a file for direct use with the calculator. Just select multiple downloaded orders .csv files and it will convert it into a text file for import into cgtcalculator.com.
I followed the advice in the “How to get an annual tax statement for the financial year?" link and get the message “…will be available shortly after the end of the tax year".
The 2025 UK tax year ended on April 5th, it’s now the 14th. How long have folks typically had to wait in previous years? I’m owed money by HMRC due to previous overpayment, so am keen to get my tax reporting done early for the refund.
The UK Annual Statements for 2025–2026 are now available in the app. To generate one navigating to Menu → Documents → AccountStatements → AnnualStatement.
Hi, I see this year the annual statement is a combined one with both invest and isa accounts. Is it possible to get an annual statement for just the invest as this is the only one that is needed for tax return purposes? and I want to pass it on to my accountant. As it is now with the combined it has a lot of unnessesary isa information, or is there a way I could edit it?
The annual statement is no good to an accountant as he needs all buys and sells since the first day you opened the invest account to 30 days past the last day of the tax year (approx May 6th).
There are HMRC CGT rules on same day orders, buys of the same stock within 30 days and a section 104 rule on using the average price. Also he needs dividend payments and needs to know what accumulating offshore ETFs you held on certain dates to calculate ERI.
Just download the CSVs for all transactions for all years and pass them on.
