I lived in the UK for many years and most of my savings are in a bank account there.
I have now moved back to Bulgaria permanently and I have already deposited in T212 with my Bulgarian bank accounts. My country of registration in T212 is Bulgaria.
Am I allowed or is there going to be any issue sending GBP directly from my UK bank account into T212?
Also, even though I am looking to invest long-term, will there be later any issues withdrawing the money to my Bulgarian accounts (after converting them to BGN or EUR ofc)?
And one last question - if possible, can I somehow send to an UK T212 account as I would like to take advantage of free instant bank transfer (which uses account number and sort code for sending instead of IBAN)? If I were to send GBP from UK account to EU account, that would still cost me some fees, but I would understand if thatās not an option.
As far as my experience, there is no issue topping up from account not in your country, I believe many people here use platforms like Revolut, N26, Wise which are not based in their country or are not even bank.
In regards to withdrawal, my experience is that if you have multiple sources of deposits, then you can only withdraw amount which you deposited to certain source.
So for example if you deposit mainly from UK account, ie. 90% of funds, you will be able to withdraw only 10% to your BGN account, as major source of funding was your UK account. I believe that is related with money laundry compliance.
I believe all withdraw limits are removed once you verify ALL of your bank accounts, no? At least I see no limit against all accounts I have added, because I verified them all as suggested by the app itself (to remove all limits).
Hey, @feedy Iāll be glad to answer all of your questions - hereās what I got so far for you
Yes, that is correct - there are no limits after you verify all used payment methods
You are allowed to continue using your account as normal and deposit with any bank you prefer. You can also utilise the multi-currency feature if youād like to deposit in GBP or other currencies different from BGN. Before doing so, please make sure to contact us so we can update your address, if you havenāt done that already
There will be no withdrawing limits as long as all of your payment methods are verified.
Yes, that is possible. You can go to āDeposit fundsā, then select āBank transferā and choose GBP as the currency of deposit. This way, the system will display our GBP bank details, and you can fund your account. However, as youāre no longer in the UK, the instant bank transfer option via TrueLayer wonāt be available.
Weāre working on introducing a similar feature for our European clients registered under our EU entity, but thereās nothing further to share for now. Weāll notify the community once thereās an update on this topic
I am pretty sure there wasnt this options back in 2023. But anyway, I can see now that I am able to withdraw to my 2nd account.
But I suspect that might raise red flags to owning bank. So you might get questions where are those funds coming fromā¦ if you deposited only small amounts to T212 from BGN account.
I know bank contacted me when I withdraw from T212, to explain where those funds are fromā¦
