Can we make market orders for Palantir and Asana already?

My theory is that I was able to make the order just because someone canceled theirs. But can’t really comment on timings. 212 should REALLY clarify on this as it is just unfair.

I’m relatively new to trading, does this happen with other brokers too? Is limiting the number of orders a common practice?

I’ve just managed to place an Invest order. By tapping the Send Order many times :joy: surprised they didnt lock me out for DDOS the buy button :grinning:

Edit: It hasn’t been fulfilled by the way, just pending.

Ignoring CFD, has anyone on Invest been filled?

I’m on Invest. My order type is limit. Did not go through yet, but I put a relatively low price. Expecting FOMO to blow this up initially. Let’s see.

I went with 200 and instantly regretted it. Went to buy more to bump it up to 500 but I was too late. Don’t count your winnings just yet.

Well let’s see if 1200 eastern is the charm. Not long lol

Hey guys I’m relatively new to stocks and trading, tried both Asana and Palantir got rejected for both. Are they all gone or is there a sever issue? Is it still worth trying and paying attention to them? Has anyone managed to buy? Feel like I’ve majorly missed out! I’ve spent most of today keeping my eyes peeled :frowning:

Have managed to set a pending order about 10 minutes ago but nothing realised yet…

Interactive Brokers are rejecting market orders, for now.

@Ahmet The retail trading session hasn’t started yet, so no one’s missed out on anything yet.

@David is it the same scenario with direct listings as it is with IPOs, in that institutional investors have access to trading before retailers?

@David any reason why some can create limits atm and others can’t?

@David What about limit? Will they be honoured and go through?

Mine dosent seem to go through.

Thank you @David for clarifying this! Is there anyway I can find out when they’ll be available? I’m unable to set a limit as the pending orders limit has been reached!

Guys just to let you know, I’ve managed to buy both Asana and Palantir, but they’re both pending

Yeah some luckly people can create limits others can’t, its a bit luckly dip. Bit frustrating. I still can’t create a limit trying now.

I saw @David start to reply, so hopefully he’s figuring out whats going on.

Since our stocks are actually held by Interactive Brokers, and Trading 212 probably has just an Omnibus account with them, I guess Interactive Brokers are limiting the orders per Omnibus account. But I would like to hear it officially from 212 and most of all find a solution to this problem.

They do have an omnibus account thats correct. Weird its randomly stopping some customers creating limit orders.

I’ve tried about 30 times this morning.

@phildawson @tsukeyomi Yes, Interactive Brokers have a hard limit of the number of pending orders they’re willing to accept.

Same, I did go low on the limit so if its not fulfilled so be it, I haven’t got faith in the investment, just taking a relatively low punt on the stock. Still nothing fulfilled so not expecting it to go through.
