Hello
So I live in the UK and depending on circumstance may consider moving to the EU.
Without wanting to get overly political, I am anxious about this up and coming budget and donāt trust the current Labour government we have at all when it comes to not fleecing the general public with taxes and things like that, possibly making fiscal life harder and even making oneās comfort less.
Iād love to be proved wrong on this, and for my worries to have been āall fuss over nothingā
Ok back on topic.
I have both a UK passport and a Romanian passport and if the standard of living in the UK drops post October Budget Iām seriously considering leaving the UK.
Possible places could include Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands and maybe Malta, Northern Spain or Italy.
My general question is, if I leave the UK to go and live in an EU member state (unsure which one) do I have to close my 212 accounts or can I keep them?

I hate to say it but suspect labour will play a very safe and boring game.
They need to invest in key sectors of the economy, ring fence the investment and grow it. Why should commercial companies pay profits out to foreign investors, when the government could grow assets that provide value to UK citizens, and hopefully in the long term pay off the national debt.
Iām not saying nationalisation 100%, network rail does not work as they do not invest. The west line in particular needs funding so trains can run both directions on the same line.
I also donāt believe in the 22bn black hole they canāt back up. I suspect it might have came from one of many studies. Our government should focus on the future, not blaming those in charge in the past, there is a reason they were in charge, and thatās they were voted in as better than the competition. I see labour no better than any.
