I’d like to have the option to make an allocation to cash within a Pie, for example, a 10% slice allocated to cash. I know it’s been suggested a few times already but just want to push for it.
To then have that % cash allocation, alongside the stocks held within, included in the re-balancing schedule.
Part of my investing strategy is to maintain a certain % of cash within a pie for taking profit and buying market corrections.
At the moment I’m adding CSH2 to the pie to act as a cash position, but this isn’t as liquid as simply having cash. We should be able to set cash as a slice of the pie at whatever % we want, and have it adjust to the correct proportions whenever rebalancing.
Exactly, and for those of us who have set up a dividend income portfolio pie it really helps to keep everything isolated and contained, including the income being generated as part of the cash allocation within the pie. All entirely within that portfolio for rebalancing and reference.
Yes, this would help loads for those, like me, who track their portfolios in other apps (like Divvy Diary). Being able to build up a cash amount and then doing a rebalance / divi-reinvest every month will cut the admin overhead by loads.
Yes, everything effectively ring fenced within the pie including cash added, allocated, generated and removed, so maintaining its integrity as a mini portfolio within the pie.
There are a couple of issues/bugs that continue to be a pain for me
Invest in a pie using only free cash if I’m using custom allocation. Currently, I have to add at least 0.01 from my main cash fund. Would be useful to be able to invest just from the pie cash
Would be useful to be able to add cash to a pie ad hoc, not only with a scheduled transfer
Would be helpful to be able to rebalance using pie cash and/or free cash along with the buy/sell of stocks, instead of just having to only sell/buy stocks
