Existing ISA account - Passport expired, new ID (Biometric Card) not accepted, waiting for new passport

Hi there,

My passport (home country) is expiring on the 22nd of this month, so I received a notification to upload a new ID.

I uploaded a new ID, my Biometric Residence Card (indefinite leave to remain) in the UK, but it was not accepted and I received a notification asking me to upload my passport instead.

I’m currently in the process of getting a new passport (British nationality) and it might take months to happen (official guidance says it’s up to 5 months from now but I’m optimistic it will be done within 3 months).

To summarise:, I have no passport at the moment and I’m unlikely to have one for the next few months. My account already has funds and I’ve been actively investing since the start of the tax year. I believe my BRP should be sufficient as this is the ID I use for everything other than travelling. Could someone please take a look at this and make sure my account doesn’t get closed or suspended? I would REALLY hate it if I lose out on my ISA allowance this year because of a bureaucratic complication. I intend to use all of my ISA allowance like every year

Thank you,
Ahmed

No worries at all, the account will not be closed, nor your ISA allowance will be affected. Just make sure to inform our team via email about the situation, and a relevant outcome will be offered.

thank you, what’s the email address I should send to?
