I have used a number of brokers and also work for one of the share registrar’s in the UK.
Many brokers and also the registrars ask for all nationalities to be declared upon account sign up or at point of a trade.
One thing that most of them have is multi nationality declaration under MIFID 2.
This can be a benefit is some stocks (like Ryanair for example) only allow EU shareholders to vote in thier AGMs or EGMs.
Since my nationality in 212 is listed as UK, despite being a dual national (other nationality is Romania) I’d be treated as not eligible to participate, despite being a member of an EU country.
If 212 had multi nationality declaration, this would prevent this problem.
I hear a lot of EU based airline stocks can have this.
