Feature Suggestions: Show Bid/Ask Spreads and Cash-Amount Limit Orders

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using Trading 212 in Germany for almost a month now and I’m really thrilled with it. It’s been a truly great broker so far. There are just two things that bother me a bit and, in my opinion, should be improved:

  1. In the Invest account, I think it’s essential to see the exact current bid and ask prices of an instrument. Right now, only a single price is displayed, but obviously, there is both a bid and an ask price, and these should definitely be visible. I often like to add to my investments manually, and I need to see the current bid and ask prices to estimate my entry point and evaluate the spread. Where can I currently find the exact buy and sell prices for my investments? I did some search on the forum here and saw that this has long been a discussion, and it seems as if Trading 212 is going to stick with their current LTP. Eh, kind of unfortunate. I would rather have a proper bid and ask price, but okay.

  2. It would be great to have an option for limit orders where you can simply enter your target price and a cash amount, letting the system automatically calculate the exact number of shares. Currently, I have to painstakingly enter fractional share amounts just to invest exactly €20, for example. The exact number of shares isn’t important to me at all; I just want to set the limit price and the total investment amount. This feature would be fantastic.

Otherwise, as I mentioned, I am very satisfied and want to say a big thank you. I hope my suggestions are well-received and might be implemented soon.

Thank you very much!

I updated my 1st and would like to emphasize my 2nd suggestion since I haven’t gotten any feedback yet.

I’ve attached a screenshot to help visualize what I mean. Ideally, there should be a toggle button that lets us switch the input mode on limit orders to a specific cash value (e.g., €200). The limit order would then execute at the set limit price, automatically calculating the exact number of fractional shares needed (e.g., 7.3029325 shares, same as market orders).

This would allow users to invest an exact cash amount without having to manually calculate the share quantity. Currently, because we can only input fractional shares up to a few decimal places, it’s often impossible to invest a precise amount since it almost always rounds to something like €199.98 or €200.05. I hope this explanation makes sense!

Greetings

Great suggestions! I completely agree with both points, especially the second one about cash-amount limit orders.
